Best Business Video Hosting 2026: Players, Prices, DRM
We rank video hosting platforms for business websites, marketing and apps (not consumer streaming services) using only facts from their own sites: the lowest monthly price you can pay with monthly billing, a permanent free plan, a player without the vendor's logo, viewer analytics, lead capture forms in the player, video SEO, adaptive streaming, live streaming, captions, DRM, a public API, the year the company started, a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certificate, a GDPR data processing agreement and a public status page. Every fact links to an official page with a check date. We do not use reviews, speed tests or user scores, which we cannot repeat, and paid placements never change the Score.

Not ranked yet: not enough verified data
These services are known to us, but we haven't verified enough facts to rank them fairly.

Sites marked as closed refuse automated reading (403 error, captcha or a robots.txt ban). We don't bypass such protection, so we can't verify their facts and they are not ranked. This says nothing about their quality. A company can send links to its official pages to [email protected].
How we calculate the Score
25%
Price
The lowest fixed monthly amount in USD that the official pricing page shows with monthly billing: the cheapest paid plan, a monthly starter bundle or a stated monthly minimum. $0 scores 100, $100 or more scores 0 (weight 3). Usage charges on top (per GB or per minute) are not added: we do not calculate bills. Annual-only prices, prices shown only after a script runs and prices in a local currency are left empty; a single euro price list of a European vendor is converted at the ECB rate. Also a permanent free plan (weight 1); a trial is not a free plan.
30%
Player and marketing
Whether the player can be shown without the vendor's logo or with your own branding (weight 1), per-video viewer analytics such as watch time or heatmaps (weight 1), email or lead forms inside the player (weight 1) and a stated video SEO feature such as schema markup or video sitemaps (weight 1). The fact shows that a feature exists on some plan, not that the cheapest plan has it.
30%
Delivery and protection
Adaptive streaming (HLS, DASH or adaptive bitrate), generally available live streaming, captions or transcripts, DRM (Widevine, FairPlay, PlayReady) and a documented public API, weight 1 each. Beta and preview features do not count; encryption without DRM is not DRM.
15%
Trust
How long the company has been running: 20 years or more scores 100 (weight 2), a SOC 2 report or ISO 27001 certificate stated on an official page (weight 1), a GDPR data processing agreement offered to customers (weight 1) and a public status page (weight 1). A badge in the footer without text is not counted.
How to choose a video hosting platform
Estimate your real usage
Count hours of video stored and minutes watched per month. Plans limit storage, bandwidth or views, and usage-based platforms bill every minute, so the cheapest entry price is not always the cheapest bill.
Decide who the videos are for
Marketing videos need lead forms, calls to action and SEO; product and app videos need an API and adaptive streaming; paid courses need DRM, domain restrictions and signed links.
Check the player on your site
Use the trial to embed a video on a real page: check the vendor's logo, mobile playback, captions and how fast the video starts.
Plan how you would leave
Make sure you can download your original files and export analytics. A documented API and bulk export make moving to another platform much easier.
Frequently asked questions
Which video hosting platform is best for a business?
The platform in first place has the highest Score under our open method, but the Score does not measure playback speed or how well a tool fits your work. Marketing teams usually need lead forms and SEO; developers need an API and usage-based pricing; course sellers need DRM.
How is this different from video streaming services?
Video streaming services like Netflix sell films and series to viewers. Video hosting platforms store and deliver your own videos on your website, in your app or in your marketing — that is what this ranking compares.
Why is the price empty for some well-known platforms?
We take only a monthly price that is written on the official pricing page with monthly billing. Some vendors show only annual prices, only quotes from sales, only usage rates per minute or GB, or show the monthly price only after a script runs. The fact then stays empty and lowers data completeness; the note on the platform's page explains what we saw.
Why do pay-as-you-go platforms rank lower?
Developer platforms often charge only per minute stored and delivered, with no fixed monthly fee. We do not calculate a bill from those rates because it depends on your usage, so their price fact is empty unless they publish a plan, bundle or monthly minimum.
What does an empty fact mean?
We could not confirm it on an official page, sometimes because the vendor's site refused automated access. An empty fact scores zero and lowers data completeness. A platform with too little data is not ranked.
