Renovation contractors: rankings by country 2026
We compare companies that renovate flats and houses only on facts readable on their official sites and in public registers: what guarantee the company states for its work, whether it works under a written contract or a fixed estimate, whether a legal entity with a registry number is given, whether the work is insured, whether it belongs to a trade body, whether prices and a portfolio are published, how long it has operated and how many projects it has completed, and whether a complaints procedure exists. Every fact links to its source with a check date. Guarantee and contract weigh the most. We do not use reviews or paid award lists. The ranking does not assess the quality of any particular job, and we do not verify stated figures on site. Market rules differ by country, so compare the Score only within one country. The Score is not for sale; paid placements, if they ever appear, will be a separate labelled block.

Frequently asked questions
What does first place mean?
The first-placed company has the highest Score under our open methodology among companies in that country. It is not an assessment of any particular job or advice to choose it.
Why do contract and guarantee weigh the most?
They set what you can demand if the work is poor or the estimate grows. That is why they make up 30% of the Score.
How does a company guarantee differ from a statutory one?
Your statutory rights apply whatever a company's site says. We count only the term the company itself states for its work; a summary of the law in an article does not count.
Why are there no reviews?
Reviews are hard to verify and badges from paid lists can be bought. We show only facts from official sites and registers.
Why is data missing for some companies?
If a fact was not on the official site, or the site is closed to automated checks, we show "Not verified" and award no points. It does not mean the company lacks it.
Can I compare companies from different countries?
No. Laws, registers and prices differ, so the Score only makes sense within one country.
