Real estate agencies: rankings by country 2026
We compare real estate agencies that help people buy, sell and rent homes only on facts anyone can check in an official register or on the agency's own website: whether the agency holds the licence, register entry or redress membership its country requires, whether it names its legal entity, whether clients' money and the agency's mistakes are covered (client money protection, professional liability insurance, membership of a professional body), whether it publishes its fees and a complaints procedure, and how long it has been in business and how many offices it has. Every fact links to its source with the date we checked it. Customer reviews, portal rankings and the number of listings are not used. The ranking is not advice to choose a particular agency. Places are not for sale.

Frequently asked questions
Which real estate agency is the best?
The agency in first place has the highest Score under our open methodology. This is not advice: look at what matters to you. If you are handing over a deposit or rent, check Client protection; if you want to know the cost in advance, check Transparency. Always read the agency agreement before you sign.
Where does the data come from?
From the agencies' official websites (imprint, terms, fees and complaints pages), the documents they publish and the official App Store. Where a register can be read without a form or captcha, we use it too. Every fact links to its page with the date we checked it.
Why don't you use reviews or the number of listings?
Reviews cannot be verified reliably, and the number of listings changes every day and depends on the portal. So the Score uses only what the agency states on its own site or what is recorded in an official register.
What does 'licence or register' mean in each country?
It follows the national rule. United Arab Emirates: the broker office registration number (ORN) with RERA/DLD in Dubai or the brokerage licence in Abu Dhabi. United Kingdom: membership of a government-approved redress scheme (The Property Ombudsman or the Property Redress Scheme). Spain: an entry in a regional register of agents, such as AICAT in Catalonia. Germany: the trade permit under section 34c of the Trade Regulation Act (GewO). Belarus: the Ministry of Justice licence for realtor activity. Poland has had no licence since 2014, so there we count the company's entry in the National Court Register (KRS).
Why are some agencies listed as 'site closed to automated checks'?
Some websites refuse automated reading (an error page, a captcha or a robots.txt ban). We do not get around such protection, so we cannot verify the facts and the agency is not ranked. This is not a judgement of its quality; the agency can send us links to its official pages.
Can an agency buy a place in the ranking?
No. The Score is calculated with the same formula for every agency. Paid placements, if they ever appear, will be a separate block labelled as advertising and never affect the Score.
