Moving companies: rankings by country 2026

We compare household removal and moving companies only on facts anyone can check on the company's own website or a trade body's site: whether the firm names its legal entity, whether it belongs to a removals trade body, whether goods are insured or can be insured during the move, whether its terms, prices and complaints route are published, what services it offers, and how long it has been trading. Every fact links to its source with the date we checked it. Customer reviews, lead-generation portals and advertising are not used. The ranking is not advice to choose a particular firm. Places are not for sale.

Frequently asked questions

Which moving company is the best?

The firm in first place has the highest Score under our open methodology. This is not advice: look at what matters for your move, such as cover for your goods, packing, a route abroad or storage.

How is the ranking calculated?

Legal entity and trade body count for 30%, protection of your goods 30%, transparency 20%, range of services 10% and experience 10%. A firm needs facts for at least 60% of the methodology to be ranked; the rest are listed below the table.

Why are customer reviews not used?

Reviews of movers are easy to buy and hard to check. We use only facts with a source you can open yourself. Read reviews separately before you book.

Does a firm pay to be listed?

No. Places in the ranking are not for sale. If a paid block ever appears, it will be separate and labelled Sponsored.

What does a blank fact mean?

It means we could not confirm the fact on an official page. It is not a claim that the firm lacks it: ask the firm directly.
