Digital marketing agencies in the UK 2026: a fact-based ranking
A ranking of digital marketing agencies headquartered in the United Kingdom, based only on facts from official sites and Companies House. We look at case studies with named clients, measured results, the legal entity with its company number, published prices, year founded and stated headcount. Where an agency does not state a founding year, the incorporation date from Companies House is shown, and the card notes it; a company may be older or younger than its brand. Several groups also work abroad, so headcount may cover all offices. Google, Meta and HubSpot partner directories cannot be read automatically, so partner badges are not counted here. The ranking does not assess campaign quality. Compare Scores only within the UK. The Score is not for sale; paid placements, if any appear, will be a separate labelled block.

How we calculate the Score
35%
Proof of work
At least three public case studies naming the client, and at least one case study with measured results. An anonymous "large retailer" does not count as a named client. Results are as published by the agency.
30%
Transparency
Whether a legal entity of this country is given with its registration number, prices are published, a privacy policy exists, and how many of four contact channels are listed: phone, email, form, address.
15%
Confirmed credentials
Partner status confirmed in the vendor's own directory, and membership confirmed on the trade association's own site. A badge on the agency's site alone does not count. Several vendor directories cannot be read automatically, so this fact often shows as not verified.
20%
Experience and scale
Year founded (scale up to 20 years) and stated headcount (logarithmic scale up to 1,000 people). Figures are as stated; for a group they may cover all offices.
How to choose a marketing agency
Check the legal entity
Find the name and registration number and compare them with the state register. The contract should name the same company.
Check the partner status yourself
Search the agency's name in the vendor's directory, such as Google Partners or the HubSpot marketplace. Status can lapse, and a badge may stay on a site.
Ask how results were measured
Ask for the period, the baseline and the source of the numbers, and for contacts at a client from a similar business.
Keep the accounts in your name
Advertising accounts, analytics and domains should belong to you. Agree in the contract on the fee, the ad budget and who may spend it.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check a marketing agency in the UK?
Search the company on Companies House, which is free and shows its number, registered address, directors and filed accounts.
Who owns the ad accounts and creative?
Copyright in work by an outside agency stays with the agency unless it is assigned to you in writing. Ask for an assignment, and keep ad accounts under your own business.
Which rules apply to the advertising itself?
The CAP Code, enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority, covers online ads. Your business remains responsible for ads that run on its behalf.
