Online pharmacies in Russia 2026: a ranking built on verified facts
A ranking of Russian pharmacy chains that take orders on their own website, built only on facts from the official register and the companies' own pages. "In register" means that the chain's legal entity named on its website is listed in the Roszdravnadzor register of permits for retail sale of medicines by distance (we searched it by INN); the permit number is shown on each card. We also check whether the website names the legal entity with its INN or OGRN, whether a pharmacist offers consultations to online customers, whether prescription medicines can be ordered on the site and collected at a pharmacy with the prescription, home delivery, free delivery from an order value, the number of pharmacies where orders can be collected, the year the chain started and the App Store rating of its app. By law, couriers may only deliver medicines sold without a prescription, so prescription orders are collected in the pharmacy. None of the chains we read states a pharmacist consultation for online customers, so that fact is empty for now. Ordering services that only pass orders on to other pharmacies are not included. EAPTEKA, Planeta Zdorovya, Aprel and Stolichki are listed outside the ranking because their websites are closed to automated checks. We do not give medical advice and do not compare drug prices. The pharmacy is listed in the official national register of pharmacies allowed to sell medicines online or at a distance (for pharmacies based in another EU country, the register of that country), and its website names the legal entity behind it with an official registration number.

The website offers consultation by a pharmacist by phone, chat, e-mail or video at no extra charge, and prescription medicines can be ordered online in the way the country's law allows: an electronic prescription, a prescription sent in, or a reservation collected at a pharmacy with the prescription.

How to buy medicines online safely
Check the register first
Before you order, find the pharmacy in the official register of the country's medicines or pharmacy regulator. Open the pharmacy's website from the register's link rather than from an advert or a message.
Look for the legal details
A real pharmacy names its operator, address, registration number and the authority that supervises it. Missing contact details, only a messenger account or a foreign address with no register entry are warning signs.
Prescription medicines need a prescription
A legal pharmacy asks for a valid prescription before dispensing prescription-only medicines. A site that sells them without one, or offers them after a short online questionnaire without a clinician, is not a safe source.
Ask a pharmacist
If you are unsure how to take a medicine or whether it can be combined with others you take, ask the pharmacy's pharmacist before you order. For symptoms, a diagnosis or a change of treatment, see a doctor.
Check delivery and storage
Find out how long delivery takes, whether medicines that need to be kept cool are shipped in cold packaging, and what happens if you are not at home. Check the package and the expiry date when it arrives.
Know the return rules
Medicines usually cannot be returned once they have left the pharmacy or the seal has been opened, for safety reasons. Read the pharmacy's terms before you order and report a wrong or damaged delivery straight away.
Frequently asked questions
Who may sell medicines online in Russia?
Only pharmacy organisations that hold a licence for pharmaceutical activity and a separate permit from Roszdravnadzor for retail sale of medicines by distance. The rules for granting the permit, for such trade and for delivering medicines to people are set by Government Decree No. 697 of 16 May 2020.
How can I check that an online pharmacy is legal?
Find the legal entity and its INN on the pharmacy's website (usually under licences or contacts) and look it up in Roszdravnadzor's register of permits for distance trade in medicines. The register shows the company name, INN and OGRN, the website address, whether there is a mobile app, and the permit number and date.
Can prescription medicines be delivered to my home?
As a general rule, no. Distance sale is allowed for medicines sold without a prescription, but not for prescription medicines, narcotic and psychotropic medicines, or medicines containing more than 25% ethyl alcohol. A pharmacy chain can still let you reserve a prescription medicine on its website; you collect it at the pharmacy and show the prescription.
What is the experiment with online sale of prescription medicines?
Under Government Decree No. 292 of 25 February 2023, an experiment starting on 1 March 2023 allowed online sale of prescription medicines in Moscow, the Moscow Region and the Belgorod Region, for a list of 904 international non-proprietary names. Narcotic, psychotropic and potent medicines, immunobiological products, medicines that must be stored below 15 °C and some other groups are excluded. Roszdravnadzor's page gives 1 March 2026 as the end of the experiment and does not say whether it was extended, so check the current status there; a separate register of permits is kept for this trade.
